Designing and Implementing Storage on AWS

The Designing and Implementing Storage on AWS (STDSIM) course is a training path dedicated to participants interested in deepening the capabilities of storing, accessing and protecting data using the vast portfolio of services and solutions offered by AWS. Through theoretical lectures, practical labs, demonstrations and group exercises, participants will acquire skills in identifying the main use cases of AWS storage services, in selecting and designing appropriate storage solutions based on application and business needs, and in configuring storage resources to effectively integrate with the broad range of AWS services. The course covers key technologies such as Amazon S3 for object storage, Amazon EBS for block storage, Amazon EFS and Amazon FSx for file storage, as well as hybrid and edge cloud storage solutions such as AWS Storage Gateway and AWS Snow Family. The course contributes to the preparation for the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate Certification .

Course Objectives

Below is a summary of the main objectives of the Designing and Implementing Storage on AWS (STDSIM) course :

  1. Describe the benefits of key AWS storage services and identify key use cases.
  2. Select and design an appropriate storage solution according to application and business needs.
  3. Configure storage resources to work with the broad range of AWS service offerings.
  4. Select the correct method to move data between on-premises workloads and the AWS Cloud.
  5. Design storage solutions to protect data at rest and in transit
  6. Implement and manage data lifecycle policies for automated data retention and deletion.
  7. Optimize storage performance and cost-efficiency based on workload requirements.
  8. Integrate AWS storage solutions with backup, disaster recovery, and data archiving strategies.
